When building complex platforms — like multi-vendor e-commerce sites or high-volume business billing systems — the CTO decides on core architecture, evaluates when a monolithic application is sufficient versus microservices, chooses the right database structures, and designs systems that recover gracefully from failures.

Infrastructure & Scalability Strategy: As the company grows, the CTO oversees the evolution of web infrastructure — transitioning from manually configured servers to automated, scalable environments. This means load balancing, distributed caching, containerization, and CI/CD pipelines. The goal is an infrastructure where adding capacity requires a few clicks rather than hours of manual troubleshooting.
